St Machar Academy News

We were delighted to welcome our Director of Education, Culture and Sport, Mrs Annette Bruton to St Machar Academy.  Mrs Bruton was accompanied by Mr David Leng, Head of Schools and Sarah Gear , Strategist.  Mrs Bruton received a tour of the school from four of our pupils, Chris Addison, Megan Williamson, Kirsten Norrie, Esther Dickson and spent time looking  at how we as a school consider raising attainment, our implementation of A Curriculum for Excellence and areas where we consider we have good practice.

S4 Business Management pupils will be selling high quality red roses on Friday February 12th.  Roses will be beautifully packaged and will cost £2 – a real bargain.  This project was very successful last session and pupils hope they will again receive support from their fellow pupils and staff!

Many pupils are currently involved in preparing for Rock Challenge which will be taking place at the Aberdeen Exhibition Centre on Friday February 19th. Pupils rehearse after school and are making good progress though staff are still wanting even more from the participants!

Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Future are building a strategy for achieving future economic prosperity for Aberdeen City and Shire for 2025 – entitled ‘A Vision for 2025’.

In order to gather views of pupils an on-line survey has been set up aimed at S3-6 pupils and it should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

The data obtained on pupils’ views will be useful for informing the development of the strategy for the future economy of Aberdeen City and Shire.
